Word Explorer

Spanish vocabulary that sticks, one word at a time

260 illustrated words with native audio, where recognizing a word and spelling it count as two separate skills. Built for kids 5 to 9, fully bilingual.

Recognition and spelling, tracked apart

Knowing what 'casa' means and being able to spell it are different skills, so NumFox measures them separately. Vocabulary uses an image and multiple choice; spelling plays the word and has your child build it from letter tiles, no keyboard needed.

Native audio on every word

Every one of the 260 words is read aloud by a native voice, so pronunciation is right from the start. Words are illustrated, so a pre-reader can learn from the picture and the sound together.

It adapts and levels up

Words are grouped into beginner, intermediate and advanced tiers. When your child masters about 85% of a tier, they move up automatically, and you can set the level by hand anytime from the child's profile.

Why it works for language

  • 260 illustrated words with native audio
  • Vocabulary and spelling tracked separately
  • English and Spanish, each direction on its own
  • Auto-leveling from beginner to advanced
  • Part of the same app as math, reading and chess
Which languages does Word Explorer cover?

Both directions: English speakers learning Spanish, and Spanish speakers learning English. Each direction is tracked separately on the child's profile.

Does my child need to read already?

No. Words are illustrated and read aloud, so a pre-reader learns from the picture and the audio. Spelling uses letter tiles, not a keyboard.

Is it part of the full app?

Yes. Word Explorer is one of six worlds in NumFox, alongside math, reading, grammar, numbers and chess, all under one subscription.
